Cancellation/Non-attendance Policy

If, for some reason you need to cancel/reschedule a minimum of 24 hours notice is required to prevent an associated fee. The cancellation/non-attendance fee is $50 payable prior to next session being booked.

Methods of Payment include Cash and EFTPOS [credit and debt cards].

Your counselling sessions are supported by Medicare, in order to be eligible for a Medicare Rebate you will need to obtain a REFERRAL LETTER and a MENTAL HEALTH CARE PLAN from your Medical Practitioner - your GP may require you to book a double session for this to occur, so please ask reception staff about this.

If you are seeking a referral for your child/adolescent it is important to note that it is highly likely the GP will want your child present at the time of developing the Referral and Care Plan. Again I recommend you ask reception staff if you are uncertain.

Medicare Reporting Requirements

Under the Medicare Better Outcomes Scheme with a Mental Health Care Plan you are entitled to annual MAXIMUM of 10 psychological services.

At the conclusion of the 6th session a review is required discussing progress to date and planned ongoing intervention/recommendations. A written report is required to be sent to the referring Medical Practitioner at this time. You will receive a copy of the report being sent to your GP for your records. At the time of receiving this report it is recommended that you make a time with your GP to review progress. Continuation of sessions CAN NOT continue without a review occurring between you/referred client and your GP.

At the conclusion of the 10th session a written report will be sent to your GP outlining the cessation of sessions under Better Outcomes Scheme; intervention to date and recommendation, if appropriate. You will receive a copy of the report being sent your GP for your records.

You need to be aware of the limits of confidentiality relating to this reporting requirement to the referring practitioner. The report to the referring medical practitioner will become part of your/referred client’s
medical report at the medical practice.
