Michelle is registered with the Australian Association of Social Workers and has a Medicare provider number [4137959T], enabling you to claim a Medicare rebate for your counselling session. By obtaining a GP, psychiatrist or paediatrician referral in the form of a Mental Health Care Plan, you could be eligible to receive a rebate for up 6 to 10 individual counselling sessions per calendar year. Your referring doctor will assess your progress after the first six sessions. To find out how to obtain a rebate download the Fact Sheet for Better Access

If you have extras cover, you may be able to claim a rebate from your health fund provider. As the rebate varies depending on your level of cover please call your Health Provider for more information. Please note that you cannot claim from Medicare Better Access and your Health Fund Provider for the same counselling session.

Other Rebateable Services:

VOCAT [Victims of Crime]: If you wish to access psychological services and you are already registered with VOCAT you will need to provide your Claim Number at the time of making initial appointment. If you wish to have a VOCAT assessment completed, you will need to speak with a VOCAT solicitor/tribunal and outline your intention to make a claim prior to an initial appointment. All VOCAT sessions are fully covered by VOCAT. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any queries relating to this.

TAC [Traffic Accident Commission]: Please note that there is an out of pocket fee associated with TAC counselling. If you have not already done so, you will need to contact TAC and get a ‘claim number’ which you will need to provide at the first session. I am happy to discuss with you should you wish to pursue this option.
